On-Call General Maintenance Services

Sealed Statements of Qualifications will be received by Solano County Transit (SolTrans), located at 311 Sacramento Street, Vallejo, California, 94590 until close of business on Thursday May 15th, 2014 for ON-CALL GENERAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES.

Description of Work

SolTrans is looking to establish a list of on-call, State of California licensed contractors and/or vendors registered with the Solano County Department of General Services, that can perform some or all of the following areas of general maintenance duties: electrical, plumbing, building repairs, roofing, HVAC, pest control, painting, security camera system install, repairs and maintenance; janitorial services, landscaping, window washing, power washing sidewalks, cleaning & maintaining the Vallejo Transit canopies and surrounding areas, fencing repairs, pavement repairs, sign installation within parking lots and public rights-of-way for bus stops; install and maintain bus stop shelters, glazing/windows repairs, doors, locks and other general building maintenance as required.

Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) System

Proposals will be received by Solano County Transit (SolTrans), located at 311 Sacramento Street, Vallejo, California, 94590, until 4 PM on Thursday, June 19th, 2014 for a COMPUTER-AIDED DISPATCH (CAD) AND AUTOMATED VEHICLE LOCATION (AVL) SYSTEM for SolTrans, Petaluma Transit, and the Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency.

A pre-proposal meeting was hosted at 8:00 AM, on Thursday, May 15th, 2014 at the SolTrans Administration Building, 311 Sacramento Street, Vallejo, California, 94590.

For proposers wishing to attend, SolTrans asked for an RSVP with the number of representatives attending by close of business on Tuesday, May, 13th, 2014. Site visits to the three agencies’ operations facilities immediately followed the pre-proposal meeting. The Schedule of Activities is attached as Addendum A.

Description of Work

SolTrans, Petaluma Transit, and the Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency have identified the need to implement technological tools to assist in managing their operations and serving their customers through the collection, analysis and dissemination of reliable data on its existing fleet of transit vehicles. Based on this high priority need, SolTrans, Petaluma Transit, and Napa VINE will deploy a state-of-the-art Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) System and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) for their fixed route and demand response fleets of vehicles. AVL and CAD capabilities will provide the agencies with an essential tool to help improve on-time performance, improve dispatch reliability and efficiency, increase ridership, improve scheduling and planning, and improve data management and reporting.
